OUTBREAK TRANSMISSION · FIELD REPORT 001
Reading Solana Memecoin Signals Without Getting Baited
A bright chart can look like a flare in the dark. Before you react, separate what the market data actually shows from the story you are tempted to tell yourself.
1. Start with identity, not the ticker
Copycat tokens can reuse names, logos and symbols. Find the mint address from an official project source and compare the full address with the token page you are researching. A search result or trending list is a discovery path, not proof of identity. Use an independent explorer such as Solscan ↗ to inspect the asset.
2. Put volume beside liquidity
Volume describes reported trading over a period; liquidity describes the available depth of a pool. Large volume next to thin liquidity can still mean that a modest swap moves the price sharply. Check the actual pool and pair on DexScreener ↗, then compare the pool depth with the size of the trade you are considering.
3. Compare more than one time window
- Compare short-window activity with one-hour and 24-hour context.
- Look at buys and sells alongside volume and price change.
- Check whether activity is persistent or concentrated in one brief burst.
- Recheck the data timestamp; market screens can update at different speeds.
A sudden spike is a reason to investigate the underlying trades and liquidity—not a reason to assume a breakout is sustainable.
4. Treat holder data as a clue, not a verdict
Concentrated ownership can increase risk, but wallet labels may be incomplete and related addresses can complicate the picture. Review available holder and authority information, and note what you cannot verify. Do not turn a single score or badge into a yes/no safety decision.
5. Use a three-column signal log
Observed
Write down the exact metric, time window, pool and timestamp.
Uncertain
Record missing data, possible wallet relationships and anything the tool cannot establish.
Next check
Verify the mint, inspect pool depth and recheck activity before deciding what to do.
Do not infer
Do not infer safety, future price, organic demand or guaranteed exit from one signal.
